Boat of 2 teens and father found below Pickwick Dam
We are here day one as the search begins for 2 15-year-old males and a father last seen here. The latest update is that the boat was found on the Tennessee river near the Savannah bridge.
HARDIN COUNTY OFFICIAL'S RECEIVED A PHONE CALL AROUND 9PM SUNDAY NIGHT STATING 3 PEOPLE HAD NOT RETURNED HOME.
TWO HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND THE FATHER OF ONE OF THE STUDENTS WERE LAST SCENE SATURDAY AROUND 6:45PM ON A FISHING TRIP AT PICKWICK LAKE.
THE TRIP WAS APART OF A BOAT TOURNAMENT WITH THE OBION COUNTY CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL.
THE HARDIN COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT AND TENNESSEE WILDLIFE RESOURCES BEGIN THEIR SEARCH AT 8 THIS MORNING AND AROUND 8:30 THEY FOUND THE NEW LEAD OF THE BOAT BEING FOUND NEAR THE SAVANNAH BRIDGE.
WE ASKED WHAT THE COMMUNITY CAN DO TO HELP IN THE SEARCH.
TWRA official said, "we do ask though… we have had a great out pouring of people that want to assist and we understand you want to help but due to the current water levels please just let the professionals do the search… we cannot take the risk of anyone else getting injured.”
Authorities tell us this investigation will continue along the Tennessee river.
