Made in Tennessee: The Grind Mac and Cheese Burger Bar

One local family had a vision to open a business that was over the top and they did just that, but with burgers and milkshakes.

“Wanted to open an amazing restaurant and so we had the idea to make the food as big and bold and amazing as we could possibly make it", says co owner of The Grind Mac and Cheese Burger Bar, Mark Laderman.

The Laderman family opened the Grind Mac and Cheese Burger Bar in October of 2017.

Since the doors opened they have served their customers cheesey burgers, extravagant milkshakes, and more.

“Well first of all over the top is our motto here", says co owner, Alan Laderman.

Customers travel from across the country to try the food.

Two women stopped in from kentucky to celebrate a birthday.

Customer, Susan Vandall, says, “So, I’m getting ready to celebrate my 65th birthday and we saw the milkshakes and everything on facebook, so we thought this would be a good birthday trip for me.”

Susan Vandall and Vicky Cooper say this year they are giving up a birthday cake for a milkshake.

“As soon as we saw it, we said we have to have that, no birthday cake, a milkshake", says Vandall.

And although Susan is turning 65, Laderman says the goal is to take their customers back to their childhood.

“Our goal here with those milkshakes is to make you feel like an eight year old kid", says Laderman.

The Grind will be celebrating the 70’s this saturday here at the restaurant. In Martin for 39 News, I’m Imani Williams.
