Made in Tennessee: My Best Friend Jenna
Dresses, dresses, and more dresses. Prom season is almost here and one local business is making sure that every girl that walks in the doors, leaves feeling confident.
Two sisters decided to start their own business after one of their favorite stores closed.
“So we are from her born and raised and one of our very favorite stores that we used to always shop was the highlander", says Bridal Coordinator Manger at My Best Friend Jenna, Lauren Hamilton.
Both sisters always had an eye for fashion, but never imagined that their love for dressing up would turn into their career.
Hamilton says, "Jenna was like you want to do this, can we do this? We didn’t know anything about it, but we always loved fashion and dressing up.”
My Best Friend Jenna opened ten years ago and serves women and men across West Tennessee.
“So it’s fun everyday, you don’t go to work it’s like coming home", says Hamilton.
They provide dresses for prom, formal outings, and weddings and tuxes for men.
So there is something for everyone…
“No matter your size, no matter what it is, we want you to feel confident", says Hamilton.
The boutique holds an annual fashion show each year to raise money St. Jude Research Hospital.
Last year they raised over 70 thousand dollars, this year they hope to raise even more but they also hope the fashion show encourages women to be comfortable in their own skin.
“Our motto behind that is empowering young women. For them to feel confident in their own skill and be able to go out into the world and power them", says Hamilton.
