27 applicants for the Jackson Madison County superintendent position
The search for the superintendent of the Jackson Madison County School System started late last year with forums to hear what the community wanted.
Now there are 27 applicants up for the job.
Out of the dozens of applicants a couple are from within the school system.
Jared Myracle, the current Chief Academic Officer and Bryan Chandler, the current Director of School Transportation.
The school board will be given the entire list with the top five applicants at their next school board meeting.
A lot of voices are being heard during this process especially the parents.
"We really want someone deep rooted in the community, someone whose well diverse on all the issues that our community is currently struggling with and someone that is going to bring about a change that is much needed", says parent Frances Douglas.
