Martin Stolen Vehicle Recovered

On February 5, 2019 at approx. 10:34 pm, Officer Adam Harrison responded to 508 Fonville St. in reference to a stolen vehicle complaint. At the residence, he was informed by the vehicle owner, Bryce Hawks that his 1998 Ford Ranger had been stolen out of his driveway. Officers spoke to a neighbor that was a witness to the vehicle being driven away from the residence and the vehicle was entered as being stolen.

Shortly after midnight, Martin Police Department was contacted by Stewart County TN Sheriff’s Department and they advised that they had made contact with the stolen vehicle and the person driving it. That person was identified as Jennifer L. Murphy, 35 of Martin. Murphy was taken into custody after being discovered in possession of the stolen vehicle and matching the description that was provided by the witness. She will be formally charged with felony theft by Martin Police Department after facing additional charges in Stewart County.
