ackson Police receives Crash Reduction Enforcement Grant.
In a cooperative effort to reduce the number and severity of traffic accidents, the Tennessee Highway Safety Office has awarded the Jackson Police Department a $50,000 grant that will pay overtime for officers to conduct traffic enforcement.

During the enforcement activities officers will focus their efforts on dangerous violations such as speeding, following too close, negligent driving, and distracted driving. Due to the fact non-use of safety belts and child safety seats contribute to unnecessary injuries and fatalities, the enforcement of vehicle occupant protection statutes will be vigorous.
As always impaired driving will be an area of concern, therefore CRE team members will be conducting DUI Saturation
and Sobriety Checkpoints as well.
