September 11 Observance at the Shiloh and Corinth Battlefields

On Tuesday, September 11, 2018, everyone is invited to Shiloh National Military Park and the Corinth Civil War Interpretive Center for a day of remembrance. Visitors will join park rangers in placing American flags on the front lawns of the Corinth and Shiloh Visitor Centers, honoring those killed in the terror attacks of 9-11.

Almost 3,000 people were killed on September 11, 2001, a tragic day, which remains the single largest terrorist attack on American soil. In addition to those United States citizens and military personnel lost, more than 90 other countries had citizens perish in the attacks.

"On this, the 17th anniversary of the terror attacks, it is appropriate that we take time to reflect on the events of that day and those who perished. We invite everyone to come to the park and place of flag in solemn remembrance," said Superintendent Dale Wilkerson.

Flags will be provided by the park and available at the front desk of both Visitor Centers from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.
