Active Shooter Training
Local law enforcement and first responders took part in some training this morning that could help save lives.
Officers and dispatcher from across west Tennessee participated in the first day of a two day active shooter training program hosted by the Madison county sheriff's department.
They learned basic first aid practices to help victims who have been shot in a active shooter event as well as evacuation techniques.
According to officials, the training will also improve communication across departments
Madison county sheriff department trainer, lt. Joe gill says
"the goal of everybody coming together, working together, understanding each other's job, because everybody has a job."
The training will also feature an active shooter response drill.
The training ends Friday
