Jackson Police K9 apprehends a Burglary suspect.

Jackson Police K9 Apprehends Suspect A suspect apprehended by a Jackson Police K9 for Aggravated Burglary is also charged with Resisting Arrest and Evading Arrest. On June 13th, Jackson Police officers respond to the vicinity of 6 Knollwood for a burglary in progress. An alert neighbor called Jackson Police after observing an unidentified black male breaking into a residence. Officers on the scene observed a black male peering out of a window from inside the residence. After observing the officers on the scene, the suspect fled the residence on foot. As the suspect fled the scene, he was observed wearing a red shirt and khaki colored pants. Jackson Police pursued the suspect on foot throughout the area and eventually into a wooded area. Before the K9 was deployed, the handler gave several commands to surrender and the suspect refused to comply. K9 Echo was deployed in an effort of apprehending the fleeing felon. The suspect was detained by the Jackson Police K9. After apprehension, the suspect, who was identified as Jalen Randles, was released into police custody after he was transported and treated at a local hospital. Jalen Randles is currently on probation through Madison County Community Corrections for a January 2018 conviction of Aggravated Burglary and Theft over $1000. “This apprehension is an excellent example of how law enforcement and the community working together can take a bite out of crime” according to Jackson Police Chief, Julian Wiser
