Jackson State Community College and Southwest Tennessee reconnect held their first information session on the new program this afternoon.
Representative from both groups were on hand in the school's student center to answer questions and facilitate anyone looking to sign up.
The program looks to get more adult back into the school system to start or continue their education.
Jackson state is also working to better accommodate those adult students according to Vice President for student services at Jackson State, Brian Gann
"We're working as a college to make sure we have the support that adult students need. All adult students will be assigned a completion coach to help them once they get here, if they have questions, if they don't know what to do or where to go. We're working on partnerships with childcare, local childcare agencies to give our students discounted opportunities for child care if that is something they may need."
The school says they will have multiple more of these informational events in the coming weeks and months and encourage anyone who may be considering going back to school to reach out to them 731 425 2601 or visit their website at www.JSCC.edu
