North Side band director resigns

JACKSON, Tenn. – The band director at North Side High School tendered his resignation on February 7, 2018. He was placed on unpaid leave February 5, amid an investigation by the Jackson-Madison County School System into allegations of inappropriate contact with a female student.

That internal investigation resulted in an inquiry by the Jackson Police Department. As of this release, no charges had been filed against the band director.

He had worked for the Jackson-Madison County School System since 2008 with no prior personnel issues.

“The Jackson-Madison County School System puts the utmost priority on the safety of all students,” said Dr. Eric Jones, JMCSS Superintendent. “We are troubled by these allegations and acted quickly as soon as we were made aware.”

All questions regarding the criminal investigation should be directed to the Jackson Police Department.
