Suspect arrested

On 01/31/2018 at around 12:00 PM, the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force, which is comprised of officers from the Jackson Police Department, Tennessee Department of Corrections, and US Marshall’s Service, arrested Braxton Taylor, age 19, of Jackson on a warrant for Criminal Attempt to Commit First Degree Murder. Taylor was apprehended in the 200 block of East Forrest Avenue.
On January 28th, officers with the Jackson Police Department responded to a call of shots fired in the vicinity of 1225 N. Highland Avenue. In an alley behind 1225 N. Highland, a victim suffering from apparent gunshots was located by Jackson Police Officers. The victim in the shooting was transported by Emergency Medical Services to a local hospital.
During the investigation, Jackson Police Investigators were able to identify Braxton Taylor as the suspect in the shooting
Taylor will be arraigned in Jackson City Court tomorrow.
