Tips for last minute holiday shipping

"The day has been pretty steady, our busiest day was yesterday but today has been pretty steady for people sending off packages" according to Tiaye Owens, one of the sales associates at USPS.

Its the busiest time of year for the united states postal service.

USPS estimates they will deliver over 200 million packages by December 24th and six million on Christmas Eve alone. Workers at the post office branch at Dr Martin Luther king Jr drive say they don't do much prep for the week.

"We do not prep, we're just prepared to do this because we do it every day. It's just part of our job."

Today was the deadline for priority mail to be shipped to make it in time for Christmas Day. If you missed the deadline, you still have a chance to get your packages where they need to go by Christmas, just a slightly higher cost.

"Overnight flat rate is 23.75 and goes up from there, so as you are getting a envelope its 23.75 and boxes start at 23.75 and go from there."

USPS say they guarantee if a overnight package is shipped by the 22nd, it will make it to its destination by Christmas Eve or your money back."

"Guarantee. That is a guaranteed service that the post office does offer and if it doesn't make it, you are guaranteed you money back."
