Church gives back to Sheriff's Department

A local church is giving back to the men and women who serve Madison county.

Antioch Baptist Church is donating 125 fruit baskets to the Madison County Sheriff's D

epartment, one of each of the 125 uniformed members of the department. The church got the idea from a group of baptist churches in Gibson county who did something similar last year.

For church members, they wanted to show appreciation for the daily help the department offers

"Sheriff's department and other law enforcement are folks who probably don't get their share of glory and they wear their uniform every day which provides some kind of trouble for them and we appreciate their sacrifice and in this holiday season its appropriate to show your appreciation for people" says Jimmy Joyner, a member of the church and one of the organizers of the donation.

The church plans on delivering the baskets to the sheriff's office tomorrow morning.
