Limited Seating Still Available at FHU’s Annual Benefit Dinner

Henderson, Tennessee (Nov. 28, 2017)—Limited seating remains available for Freed-Hardeman University’s Annual Benefit Dinner set for Friday night, Dec. 1, 2017, according to Dave Clouse, FHU vice president for community engagement. He, however, still fully expects the event to reach its $1.5 million goal for scholarships at FHU.

Tim Tebow, Heisman trophy winner at the University of Florida and NFL quarterback turned SEC college football analyst and professional baseball player, will be the featured speaker at this year’s event. He is known not only for his athletic skills, but also as a philanthropist and an author.

FHU President David Shannon will be enjoying his first benefit dinner since taking the reins of the university earlier this year. He praised the choice of Tebow as speaker, saying, “Tim Tebow’s sportsmanship, character and philanthropy have helped young people around the world, and his presence at this dinner will support Freed-Hardeman students. I am looking forward to a wonderful evening.”

Entertainment for this year’s dinner will be provided by a group of students and alumni called Pride of FHU. Organized especially for this event, the group is directed by Peggy Weaver of Jackson. The program will also feature children from the community.

Freed-Hardeman University students will present Tebow, well-known for his high moral and ethical standards, with a Bible in appreciation of his efforts to support scholarships at FHU.

“Throughout its more-than-50-year history,” Clouse said, “the benefit dinner has been a major force in helping students attend FHU. It has brought in more than $28 million and has helped thousands of students afford a college education. We expect this Friday night to be another great event.”

Sponsorships begin at $600, and individual tickets may be purchased for $150. To purchase tickets or become a sponsor, individuals may visit http://fhu.edu/tebow or contact Clouse at 731-989-6019.
